Shortly after sunrise this morning I drove to some open water I had discovered the prior afternoon in Loveland, Colorado. My hope was I might find some birds who decided to avail themselves of this small amount of H2O. My guess was correct, and I found hundreds, if not thousands, of Canadian Geese which were paused during their northward travels. Within fifteen minutes most of the geese had taken off to move onward. It was a dramatic site.
