The Yellow Roses of Lake Superior …
Were these roses left as a remembrance for Memorial Day? Part of an engagement proposal? Or another special moment?
I will never know, but when I arrived looking for shorebirds at the Superior Entry on Lake Superior not long after sunrise I found these three yellow roses in the sand leaning against a log. The weather was brisk, only 47F. Thus, the roses had not wilted.
I’m betting the roses were left as a surprise for whoever came upon the area next. The private moment had already occurred. Sweet photo.:)
The yellow roses on the shore of Lake Superior was probably a private moment……you should not have posted it on your blog.
Fritz: Memorial Day is important, and not enough of my fellow citizens take time to recognize the reasons for the holiday. My post and photograph are extremely respectful, and include only one link in the written content to the official Memorial Day web site … USMemorialDay.org. However, I value folks expressing differing opinions on my blog, even if those words criticize me, which is why I approved your comment.
Don’t you just love a mystery? I think they were put there because three girls from Texas met their boyfriend’s there:-)
