Actually, it was not a common sunrise at all! Yesterday night Molly and I spent the evening at Lake Murray State Park. This Oklahoma park has a fantastic resort, which although it would likely be overrun with people in the summer, mid March is the definition of serenity. While looking out our lodge window thirty minutes before sunup, I remarked the water birds swimming over to the shallows much be wintering loons. I quickly headed outside and discovered my ID was correct, and better yet … the loons had shed their drab colors for summer breeding plumage.

The sun is finally partially above the horizon in this photo!
Oh my, the sunrise on that water is something else!
