Surgery Delayed

My surgery is delayed for about one month … date unknown. Needs to be scheduled.
My urologist just phoned. The operating room at Miller Dwan (part of Essentia St. Mary’s) is not safe for me because of my poor heart ejection ratio. My poor heart function is nothing new, but upon receiving the schedule for tomorrow Miller Dwan will not let me be operated in their operating room for my own safety. My prostate surgery needs to be in St. Mary’s where the operating room has the facilities to better respond if there are complications.
Please note my operation is NOT being delayed because of any concerns caught in the pre-op visits … it was an administrative oversight. My overall risk factor is almost as low as someone who has not had heart problems, but rules are rules.

    1. Nope, but anything is possible in northern Minnesota right now. I drove this morning up to the Greenwood Creek Bog Birdfeeders. The amount of water in “bog country” is amazing. I took a two mile birding hike to the pond, and my feet were very wet by the end, and the mosquitoes would have been well fed if I had not had on full protection.

  1. Sending wishes that all goes very well Richard!
A big fan of your emails who lives in St Paul, has a cabin just outside Big Falls on hwy 6 on the Bigfork River. Love your notes/pics from the Big Bog!

  2. Hopefully some good birding and biking weather while you wait for an OR. Good to follow the rules 🙂. Would love to see moose from your trail cam

  3. All the best with your surgery.
Loved the mosquito webcam on Greenwood Lk trail. Great photo of the Canada lynx.
    Thanks so much.
