An interesting perspective on where I like to go birding in NE Minnesota … my private pins over the course of many years. While obviously the Gunflint Trail is a cool area, Grand Marais is too far from my home for a daily birding starting point (2.25 hours). Almost all of these pins are locations within 1.5 hours of my home and cabin. Owl locations are only a fraction of the spots.amityamity
Where’s Waldo? It’s an unincorporated community about 1.5 miles north of Two Harbors, Mn, west of State Hwy 2. It includes the east and west branches of Stewart River and the east branch of the Knife River. Or were you asking something else?
You definitely got a laugh out of me … signed Richard Waldo Hoeg!
Please explain your map Richard, Yellow? Blue? JReed
I’m afraid the answer is not very exotic. Blue pins are some locations I saved to a “public list” a few years back, and those pins helped one find some spots at the two ends of Stony River Forest Road, the Sax-Zim Bog Welcome Center, etc. My yellow pins are saved to a “private list”.
