Cancer Ducks … all in a row! Today is Molly’s final Chemo treatment (of 18), not to mention a very hard surgery a few weeks before Chemo. The kids and grandkids made the correct assessment that cancer sucks, and thus a few weeks ago 100 “cancer ducks” were hidden around the house. Molly and I have only found 75 of the little ducks so far. Last night Karen, our daughter, and 2 of the grandchildren arrived for today’s “ring the bell” treatment. This morning at 5:30 am I found the “previously found” ducks all in a row!

The flowers are from Betsy and Mike who came through Duluth yesterday to celebrate our epic journey. Thank you to all our family and friends. Cancer Ducks. (replace D with S!)
As a fyi, my task of taking care of Molly is partially complete, and I may now focus more on myself. Next week I will have Prostate Cancer surgery (remember … Cancer Ducks!). Thankfully many different scans have indicated the cancer was caught early, and has not spread beyond the prostate gland. My prognosis is excellent.
We didn’t realize your duck predicament until reading Molly’s CaringBridge post. Prayers for your journey (sounds like those ducks are lined up well) 🫂
Those ducks can be a problem, but the prognosis looks good!
God’s Blessings to you both for full recoveries…
Prayers for both of you. Thank you for all you do for those of us who follow your adventures. We look forward to good news!
Wow, that’s a lot for one family to handle. Good luck, and God bless you.
Sending well wishes and healing positive vibes to you both!
A sense of humor is a blessing when life gets tough, and your family is the best! Sending you and Molly healing wishes, and successful duck spotting.
I hadn’t known about the cancer journeys and wish both of you well. My husband’s prostate surgery in 2001 held all this time–until another illness took him in January. God’s blessings and healing to both of you.
Thoughts and prayers for you and Molly as well as the entire family. We too are dealing with the “Cancer Sucks” moment in our family as my daughter-in-law’s grandmother deals with lung cancer. Continue Glory to God for All of Us that he will see us through it. I know Molly is in good hands under your care.

Rich,
We are with you in prayer on this journey also. Blessings and peace as you receive the necessary medical care. Greg and Mary G.
Sorry I missed you this afternoon, Greg. Thanks for stopping by to visit Molly.
There is certainly nothing like family when support is needed and yours is the best. Positive thought are sent your way!
Oh my. What a family you have, thank goodness, to help you both through this. May the Ducks Be With You both!
As of 6:45 am this Monday morning, we have now found 80 ducks. Only 20 to go!
Praying for Molly and you too. Cancer is terrible and the chemo is no picnic. The thought that you both have faced cancer makes is even harder I’m sure. Thankful today the bell will be rung for Molly. The hidden ducks brought a smile to my face. I’m glad you have such a supportive family. That’s a blessing. Thanks for sharing your journey.
I am so sorry your family is in this swamp of medical stress! I am hoping that the climb out of this swamp continues in a positive way. The humor your family has in dealing with Cancer Ducks is inspiring and makes me smile in my own traumas. Best wishes and thoughts.
