Oh wow, and I repeat … oh wow! We were in cycling heaven for bike touring today (55 mile ride). We had all of the below items occur:

1. Perfect smooth pavement
2. Wide shoulders
3. Light traffic
4. Flat as a pancake for 31 miles
5. Nice tailwind
6. Bight, blue skies without a single cloud
7. Mountains on either side of the Skeena River
8. A lifer bird for me (Steller’s Jay)

Here are just a few images, including my Steller’s Jay. After 471 miles of riding, we have reached Prince Rupert and the Pacific Ocean. Tomorrow we take the ferry out to the island chain of Haida Gwaii.
